Yu Yu Hakusho: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Nelson Acosta Koimoi We might never get the chance to have a live-action Hunter x Hunter adaptation, but having a Yu Yu Hakusho one is the next best thing, and luckily the show does a good job at presenting the character and setting up the Dark Tournament Saga. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Yu Yu Hakusho: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse “Yu Yu Hakusho” boasts an excellent cast, captivating action scenes and the best part of the original comes after what we saw in the first season, one can only deem the title as successful, and also a great start to what will only become better. Rated: 6.5 Mar 16, 2024 Full Review Yu Yu Hakusho: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Danae Stahlnecker Common Sense Media Yu Yu Hakusho's lengthy fight scenes and shocking supernatural imagery are what hook viewers. Jan 11, 2024 Full Review Yu Yu Hakusho: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Sayantan Gayen CBR The Netflix adaptation is far from perfect, but their decision to adapt it faithfully in a Japanese setting, wrapped in wall-to-wall action, may be enough reason for audiences worldwide to give the show a chance. Rated: 6/10 Dec 29, 2023 Full Review Yu Yu Hakusho: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Mariló Delgado Espinof As a supernatural action and drama series, it is entertaining, works perfectly, and is just enough to get you hooked more than perhaps planned. Van B Growing up watching the anime series multiple times, I would have to say how disappointed I am to see all the character growth condensed into just a few episodes. The live action series felt like a fan made cosplay show... The end of the dark tournament thrown into the show was so rushed. Master Genkai and Yusukes relationship was short lived. The blood, sweat and tears of training from each main character up to the final fight with Togoros team wasn't even present in this live action series. They went through so much up to the final match and that wasn't even represented in the live action like it should have. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Audience Member So honestly, the actors aren't bad at all. I know a lot of people praise this as being good but, I feel like a lot of these people haven't read the manga let alone watched the anime. It hardly follows the source material. It's terrible. You introduce the Tugoro brothers and stuff from the dark tournament before Yusuke even meets Genkai. Before even his fight with Rando? It's rushed, it's not good. It's a shame because the actors are great for the most part but, who ever wrote this fire live action is obviously not a big fan and really are terrible at what they're doing. Do everyone a favor and just stop. If you're going to try to do this, do it right. You failed. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Onkale R so i thought it was interesting see them make live adaption of the film. but i would of love to see me of the story line showing through each episode instead of the story be told in 3 story and also feel like the aga should of been told in the way animation was told also o e of the character o feel like the cgi for that character should of had more musics then want was show but overall it a good show just need to be ep ding out more to tell the story Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/15/24 Full Review David W Amazing live action adaptation with incredible special effects and fighting sequences. Loved every second of this. More please. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/24 Full Review Isaac M Yu Yu Hakusho's live-action entertains with its electrifying action sequences and impressive visual effects, but disappoints by not capturing the essence of the original work. The superficial narrative, lack of humor and underdeveloped characters prevent the series from reaching the same level of acclaim as the anime and manga. Hardcore fans may feel nostalgic with some solid references and acting, but for those unfamiliar with the original story, the series may feel hollow and soulless. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Total shitty show, English dubbing is soo bad it feels like they did the voice acting in a Bathroom. Echo of the voices can be heard in the english dub even tho the characters are outside. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
